Karla
While I initially intended to apply for an Audiology program, I took on a part-time role at Sunshine in the spring of 2016. To my surprise, I discovered a deep passion for eye care. With the guidance and support of Dr. Milazzo, I decided to pursue my education further and applied to the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology.
In the spring of 2020, I successfully obtained my Optical Sciences Eyeglass Diploma, although my program faced delays due to COVID-19 restrictions. However, my determination remained unwavering, and by April 2022, I had completed my Post Diploma Certificate in Contact Lenses.
Currently, I am diligently working towards obtaining my Opticians License, balancing my time between studies and personal interests. Outside my professional pursuits, I relish in attending concerts and cherishing quality moments with my family.
Ulyana
Originally from Ukraine, I grew up enjoying arts and fashion. After graduating high school, I earned my medical degree in Lviv National Medical University and immigrated to Canada. My move set me on a path through various industries before a well-timed interview at Sunshine Modern Eye Care in 2021.
While working at Sunshine Modern Eye Care, I have witnessed firsthand the transformative effect that the right pair of glasses can have on an individuals’ confidence and self-esteem. It goes beyond visual correction; its about empowering patients to embrace their unique style and identity.
Today, I am a student Optician at Seneca College and currently work as an optometrist assistant and ophthalmologist technician.
Outside of my work, I enjoy hobbies like hiking with my dog, reading, sharing traditional Ukrainian dishes, and, of course, trying on new frames.
Thien
In 2019, I graduated from York University with a degree in Economics and Anthropology. Since then, I shifted my career path to the field of medical services and I have never looked back.
In my current role, I engage with patients, supporting them with diverse clinical tasks and guiding them in choosing eyewear. Having spent several years at Sunshine Modern Eye Care, I feel like the clinic does a good job at staying up to date on current eyewear trends that offer modern quality eyewear options.
Beyond my professional life, I enjoy watching Marvel movies and exploring new dining and shopping experiences.
Sukhveer
I am a recent graduate from Centennial College with a background in arts and health sciences. Having been working diligently at Sunshine Modern Eye Care for the past few years, I feel like the clinic does a good job putting patients and their care before anything else. I learned that my passion is helping people look, feel, and see their best through the perfect pair of glasses. As a fan of fitness, I enjoy finding new places to hike, bike, and swimming at any beach I can get to! Brampton is a great city; its busy but minutes away from the outdoors. When not getting my sweat on, I bake, read, and enjoy music. Life, to me, is the delicate art of harmonizing the beauty of sight with the joy of experiencing the world.
